The Symptoms From Your Body That You Should Be Concerned About
Jun 17, 2025
“Should I be worried about this?”
It’s the question every woman asks at some point—when something feels off, but you’re not sure if it’s serious.
Maybe your doctor says your bloods are “normal.” Maybe you’re told it’s just stress, your age, or being a woman.
But deep down, your body feels like it’s waving a flag.
In Episode 2 of the What’s My Body Telling Me? podcast, Dr. Anthea Todd shares a simple but powerful system to help you decode those signs—so you know when to act and when to gently support.
🔴 Red Flags: When You Should Be Concerned
Red flags are your body’s way of shouting. These are not “wait and see” moments—these are symptoms you should never ignore:
- Sudden, sharp, or severe pain
- Bleeding after menopause
- New symptoms that worsen rapidly
- Unexplained fever, rash, or weight loss
- Black, bloody, or frothy stools
- Headache with fever and rash
- Any symptom that feels “off” and you’re worried
👉 Your concern is reason enough.
If you’re unsure or uneasy—get it checked. The earlier, the better.
⚪ Beige Flags: Still Serious, Just Not Urgent
Beige flags are common, but that doesn’t make them normal.
They’re symptoms your body whispers when it’s undernourished, overstressed, or out of balance. You might have ignored them—or even been told they’re just part of womanhood:
- Bloating or morning nausea
- PMS, period pain, or irregular cycles
- Fatigue after eating
- Hair thinning or skin breakouts
- Mood swings, anxiety, or low libido
- Poor appetite or food aversions
You’ve probably seen your symptoms in each flag—and are either going to seek medical attention or you already have.
If red flags are ruled out and you’re still not feeling right, you’re in beige flag territory.
This is where the Four Fundamentals™ come in.
The Four Fundamentals: What Your Body Really Needs
Most beige flag symptoms are your body saying:
“I don’t have what I need to function well.”
And that “need” usually falls into one (or more) of these:
- Nervous System: You’re overwhelmed, under-rested, disconnected from joy.
- Metabolism: You’re sedentary, overstressed, or lacking movement/sunlight.
- Nutrients: You’re missing key minerals, protein, or getting exposed to toxins.
- Blood Sugars: You’re skipping meals, overdoing sugar/caffeine, or burning out.
🟢 Green Flags: What Good Health Actually Looks Like
Don’t forget to look for signs of thriving.
Green flags mean your body is saying yes—to what you’re doing and how you’re living:
- You wake up with energy
- You feel hungry, satisfied, and clear-minded
- Your periods are regular and pain-free
- Your skin glows and your digestion flows
- You bounce back from stress or illness with ease
Feeling good shouldn’t be rare. It should be your baseline.
The Bottom Line: Don’t Ignore the Signs
Symptoms aren’t random. They’re messages. And when you understand which ones mean “go to the doctor now” versus “support your fundamentals,” everything shifts.
