Postpartum Isn’t Meant to Break You

Sep 05, 2025

You’re told it’s normal. That being constantly exhausted, teary, anxious, or unable to concentrate is just part of being a new mum. You might hear, “It’s just the hormones,” or, “You’ll feel better soon.”

And while postpartum does come with a cascade of hormonal shifts and changes in identity, it shouldn’t feel like you’re losing yourself. It shouldn’t feel like survival.

When “Normal” Doesn’t Feel Right

I’ve worked with so many women who were told everything was fine—normal blood tests, normal recovery—but inside they knew something wasn’t right. Their body felt off. Their energy was gone. Their digestion, mood, cycles, skin… not okay.

They didn’t need a diagnosis.
They needed validation.
They needed a way to understand what their body was trying to say.

Postpartum isn’t meant to break you.
It’s meant to be supported.

What If the Tests Missed Something?

Here’s what I want every woman to know: just because your tests are normal doesn’t mean you’re fine. It means the test didn’t pick it up. That doesn’t mean your symptoms aren’t real—or solvable.

And while it’s always important to seek medical support, if you’re stuck in that in-between place—feeling like something’s wrong but not getting answers—a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) test can reveal what blood tests often miss.

It shows what your body’s holding onto, what it's depleted in, and how that affects your energy, mood, and ability to heal. You can learn more about this test here

You’re Not Crazy. You’re Just Not Being Heard.

There is nothing wrong with you for needing more answers. You’re not being “too sensitive” or dramatic. You’re being honest.

You deserve to feel strong, balanced, and clear in your body again. You deserve to understand it.

If this speaks to you, I dive deeper into trusting your body and listening to it's messages in Episode #18 of the What’s My Body Telling Me? podcast: Losing Hope? Listen to This to Rebuild Trust in Your Body. Tune in now—your body is trying to tell you something. And it’s time we start listening.
