Why Your Healing Might Not Be Working—Yet

If you've ever tried “everything” and still feel stuck, exhausted, or overwhelmed by your symptoms — you're not alone. One of the most common things I see in clinic is women who have spent years investing in their health, but haven’t felt the shifts they expected.

And it’s not because they haven’t tried hard enough. It’s often because they’ve only been supported through one lens of their health — when true healing requires all three.

Let me explain.

In my work, I guide women to view their symptoms through the Three Lenses of the Female Fundamentals™ Framework:

1. Medical Lens: 

This is about ruling out serious pathology and understanding if you may require medication or surgery. Think: GP visits, blood tests, scans, ultrasounds.

Sometimes, this lens gives us relief: “Everything’s normal.”
But sometimes, we know deep down... it’s not the whole picture.

2. Functional Lens: 

Here, we explore how your body is actually functioning. This is where most people start to find answers for persistent fatigue, gut issues, hormone imbalances, or PMS.

This lens helps uncover patterns in your minerals, metabolism, blood sugars, and nervous system.
Think: HTMA testing, naturopaths, functional medicine practitioners, nutritionists, or integrative doctors.

3. Energetic Lens: 

This is the lens so many miss — but it often holds the key.

It explores how stress, emotion, belief, and trauma are held in the body and may be manifesting through physical symptoms. Think: breathwork, spinal energetics, IFS (Internal Family Systems), somatic therapy, or even energy-based practices like acupuncture or Reiki.

The most important thing to know?

You don’t need to choose just one.
 

Healing isn’t about loyalty to a method. It’s about listening to what your body needs, and being brave enough to support it through the modaility that resonates most — even if that changes over time.

Maybe that means working with a naturopath and a breathwork facilitator. Maybe it’s doing spinal energetics after you’ve gotten your bloods done. Maybe it’s finally resting when every part of you wants to “fix” something.

Your healing path gets to be yours. And it gets to honour all the layers of you — physical, functional, and emotional.
